Just me or have we been talking about the iPhone 5 for over 2 years now? Will Wednesday’s Apple announcement be a let down?
Remember how last year we were so freaking excited for the new iPhone 5? It was suppose to have a huge screen, amazing camera and a holographic keyboard! Then we were all let down to find out that it was a piece of crap iPhone 4S, but because it was a new iPhone, us Apple groupies lined up by the millions to buy a product that was nearly exactly like the one we already had. Ok, most of us didn’t actually believe that last year’s iPhone was going to come with an holographic keyboard. With that said, I did come across a few peeps who actually thought that fancy YouTube video was real. The iPhone 4s wasn’t actually a piece of crap it just wasn’t an iPhone 5. It was actually just a sexier iPhone 4. Regardless of how lame or not lame the iPhone 4s model was, it was still the highest selling iPhone ever. Maybe it was Siri? Maybe it was the 8-megapixel camera? Who knows? One thing is for sure, whether this new iPhone is called an iPhone 5 or just “The New iPhone” you had better believe that people will line up by the hundreds at retail locations around the country to get their hands on a piece of new Apple technology.
I wonder if people will ever line up to purchases a new Samsung smart phone? Just kidding. No one would do that. Sorry Samsung.
Apple’s keynote is September 12th, and we are all waiting and wondering what new toys Apple is going to wow us with. Most importantly, we want to know about the new iPhone. Unfortunately Apple doesn’t broadcast it’s keynotes live anymore so we are going to have to just watch all the news unfold on blogs that are having live coverage. Hopefully this time around the blogs can actually handle the traffic. My guess is that they will all crash due to the millions of people flooding to the sites to get the scoop.
Rumor has it that this new iPhone is going to have a slightly larger screen and by larger I mean longer not wider. Apparently with the longer screen comes an extra row of mystery icons. This is all rumor of course. My biggest question is about 4G. Is Apple finally going to give us a 4G device? If we do see a 4G iPhone then I’m going to predict that it will out sell all the previous iPhones. I will also predict that if the iPhone comes in 4G that Verizon will absolutely crush AT&T in iPhones sales come launch day. Reason for this prediction is simple. AT&T’s 4G network is almost non-existent in comparison with Verizon’s. AT&T’s 4G network may be faster, but that doesn’t do us a bit of good if it’s not in our area.
Apple also appears to be moving away from having anything to do with Google. The new iPhone or iPhone 5 is likely to come without Google maps or a pre-installed YouTube app. As a matter of fact, you can get Google’s new YouTube app from the Apple app store now. I recently downloaded it and I really like it. It’s a huge improvement. I recommend you get it.
There is a lot of buzz about Apple launching a Pandora equivalent too. This could be very interesting and I could see how Apple could be very successful at this, especially since they can already tell what kind of music we like by just reviewing our iTunes library.
I’m going to suggest that we will not hear any talk about a new iPad tomorrow but probably later on in October; However,we will most likely see some new iPod options along with the new iPhone. I will compile all the information after tomorrow’s keynote and have it all ready for you to consume here on www.easytechsite.com shortly after. iPhone pre-orders are said to start on Friday but we should know for sure after tomorrow.
Here are a couple videos that I just thought were hilarious.
