Mac vs PC, witch one should you choose? Here are my thoughts. For as long as I can remember I have used a PC and I have always loved Microsoft windows. I’ve been an online gamer for over 10 years, along with having online businesses and PC has always served me well. I still have a PC today, because when we are talking about online gaming there is nothing better. Not to mention I can build or purchase a really powerful PC machine for under a $1000. I can not purchase an equivalent from mac for anything less then $2000. I also love how compatible everything is with PC. Nearly any electronic,software, or game will be will be compatible with PC.
So why do I choose Mac over PC?
Mac is so much better for my online business. When it comes to creating media content; you flat out can not compete with Mac. Some of the content I create are training videos and podcast. Mac comes standard with I-Life. I-Life comes with Garage Band which is a great software program for not only editing and creating music but also for creating great sounding podcast. I-life also comes with I-movie, which is one the best movie editing software programs available. Anything that would be half as good would cost you in the thousands of dollars. I have yet to find a PC program that even comes close to ease of use and quality that you get from I-movie. The program I use on my PC for movie editing was $300 and it is a joke in comparison.
Software programs are better and less expensive from Mac. Above I gave you a few examples of software that is superior to what’s avaialbe from PC and how it’s included with any Mac you buy off the shelf today. When Apple releases a new OS it usually cost less then $100; if you want windows 7 you are going to spend $200 and up for that upgrade. I recently needed a program to record my desktop for some training products I’m creating. I went to apple and found a great product that records in HD. I downloaded it straight to my computer in minutes and began using it. It cost me $29.
I have a little Mac ibook g4 that was created in 2003. I’m actually typing this artiicle on it right now. It will boot up and be ready to use in seconds. My PC that is dect out with 8 gigs of ram takes a good 3 to 5 mins to boot up. I love how fast a Mac will boot up and be ready to use. Programs open almost instantly with one mouse click. It’s nice to start your computer up and start working right away instead of waiting around for your computer to load.
Another great thing about Mac, is the I-phones, I-pads and I-pods. If you are using any of these items and I would imagine you probably are then having a Mac computer will make your syncing a breeze. It’s incredible how great Apple products communicate with each other making your experience seamless and painless.
So in conclusion: Your initial cost may be more when purchasing a Mac, but your getting a better product that will hold its value over the years and provide the perfect solution for any online business. Especially an online business that is using a lot of media such as podcast, movies, photos, and music.
